5 Day Fes to Marrakech Adventure itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart from Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Ifrane to enjoy its distinctive architecture and mountain atmosphere. Continue to the cedar forest near Azrou, where you may spot Barbary macaques among the trees.
Travel through Midelt and continue south through the dramatic Ziz Gorge. Stop to admire the palm groves of Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga, where the dunes of Erg Chebbi welcome you to the Sahara.

Day 2: Explore Merzouga – M’Ifis Mines – Nomad Family – Merzouga Lake – Camel Ride
Spend the day discovering the landscapes and culture surrounding Merzouga. Visit Khamlia village for a traditional Gnawa music experience, then explore the old M’Ifis mining area. Meet a nomadic family over tea and learn about their daily life in the desert.
Visit the seasonal Merzouga Lake when water levels allow, before returning to prepare for your desert adventure. In the late afternoon, ride camels through the Erg Chebbi dunes, stopping to enjoy the sunset and take photographs.
Arrive at your desert camp for dinner and an evening beneath the Saharan sky.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley
Wake early to enjoy sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. Leave Merzouga and travel to Rissani, where you can explore the traditional market area, especially lively on market days.
Continue towards Tinghir and Todra Gorge, with time to walk beneath its towering cliffs and enjoy the scenery. In the afternoon, travel to Dades Valley, passing villages, rocky landscapes and green stretches of farmland.

Day 4: Dades Valley Trek – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, enjoy a morning trek near the remarkable Monkey Fingers rock formations. Discover the valley on foot, following paths through striking scenery and enjoying a closer look at the surrounding villages and countryside. The walk can be adapted to your interests and fitness level.
After lunch, depart for Ouarzazate, travelling through the Rose Valley and past the landscapes and kasbahs of southern Morocco. Arrive in the afternoon with time to relax.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Tizi n’Tichka Pass – Marrakech
Begin the day with a visit to Atlas Studios, subject to opening and filming access, before continuing to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou. Walk through its earthen passageways and admire the traditional architecture and surrounding views.
Continue across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping along the way to enjoy panoramic mountain scenery. Arrive in Marrakech and finish your journey with a drop-off at your accommodation.
